How to Mount a Basket to a Bicycle
(1) Take out the reflector and attach it to the front of the basket.
(2) Loosen the stem and take it off. Then take out the spacer in the stem so that it looks like the picture.
(3) Bend the fender holder (attached to the bottom of the basket) inwards a little at the bottom. Use the seat post to bend if necessary by inserting the one piece of the fender holder into the seat poat and, with leverage, bend it in only slightly. (See the final picture below if you are unsure about which direction to bend the fender holder.)
(4) Loop the basket headset holder to the headset area so that the piece replaces the spacer that you took out earlier. Screw the headset back on.
(5a) If your bike is NOT the new BC-106 model, screw the basket mounting legs onto the front axle. If it does not curve towards the axle bolt, try step #4 again. Remember to only bend it slightly.
(5b) If your bike is the NEW BC-106 model (shipments starting July 2008), screw the basket mounting legs onto the frontmost fender holders so that it shares a bolt with the fender leg. If it does not curve towards the fender bolt, try step #4 again. Remember to only bend it slightly.
(6) Replace the stem and tighten accordingly.
